Up in the Great Lakes Region the weather is a quite comfortable 16C or 61F so I took advantage and went for a day long ride.
It is Halloween after all so I thought I would check the cemetery for any early movement.

The leaves are late in changing colours around here but finally we are seeing some splendid colours. I took these shots at a village called Hungry Hollow. It seemed appropriate for Halloween.

A lot of the area is still green so I find to get a good feel for autumn you have to get right into the woods to absorb the scenery.

I much prefer to ride in the fall. This way you can wear all the gear and not become uncomfortably warm. Todays ride lasted about 6 hours, but I only registered 275 kilometers. I took the time to stop and smell the roses, especially since after this week, the riding opportunities up here will become rare.

I stopped in Ailsa Craig to get a slice of homemade pie at a local eatery. I come here a lot. Always a top notch treat. Since it is Halloween, I start making my way home so I can get there before 6:00 oclock to hand out the goodies. I only made one stop on the way home and that was at my Suzuki Dealership in the town of Forest. Talking to the salesman, he tells me he is dropping all motorcycles sales; parts and service. They also sell Victory motorcycles. They are concentrating on ATV's; snowmobiles and farm equipment. It's too bad because they always treated me right.

Never even knew there was a dealer in Forest. Is that the equipment rental place on Hwy #12? Are they going to have a sale on any remaining stock?

Absolutely beautiful! You live in a gorgeous area of the country bentwheel ... down here, the trees are almost bare already ...

Yeah, I think I'm the one that moved it. I was thinking it was more generic motorcycling than Savage specific. My bad.

Beautiful pictures, no matter where they are posted. We are just now beginning to see some color in the wild sumacs and poison oak vines. Of course, We never get color like those pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Bentwheel is this place Hungry Hollow somewhere around Arkona? and is the bridge in the one picture the one that goes over the Ausable river on rt. 81 near Parkhill?
I have been to Rock Glen fosseil hunting and this whole area is beautiful. :D

Starlifter you know the area well. Hungry Hollow is just east of Arkona and that is where the bridge is as well. It is on Sylvan Rd.

No Shawn I'm not. In fact we are at opposite ends of the province. You are near the Quebec border and I am at the Michigan border.

Oh I see. You are just outside of Cincinnati. Cornwall is 700 km/435mi. away from me.

Me too when taking the 401 to Massena NY. Cornwall and the entire Seaway Valley are are quite lovely. :D

i used too live in p.a and man i miss the north,mainly because off the leaves,they just dont turn,that bright of color down here for some reason ???
