Title: Cost of a engine rebuild Post by Dave Bennett on 10/31/05 at 05:50:22 Hi Folks, I have a friend that has a savage. He has done the rubberplug leak fix once and the engine is again leaking oil. He is considering taking it to a repair shop and having them look at it. If it comes down to needing a rebuild, does anyone know what a reasonable cost for that would be? Thanks for lending an ear. Now that sounds reasonable Now days where folks are charged $300+ to re-torque the head bolts, change the oil, and incorrectly re-install the headcap plug i'd be suprised if you get out for under $1500. |

Title: Re: Cost of a engine rebuild Post by Jim_R on 10/31/05 at 14:39:22 it cost me like 1500 for just rebuilding the top of the engine, no piston :( but it was a suzuki stealership. |
