Title: Riding Clubs
Post by Banjoboy on 10/08/05 at 15:32:20

I'm a relatively new rider after roughly 35 years of not riding a bike.  My 2003 runs great.  No complaints (maybe the seat), but I'd like to find riding groups in my area, Everett Washington.  Any suggestions.

theres a large contingent of savage riders in the nw.

yet after 6 months of planning, and talking about it here, just greg, his better half and my self went on the Mt run in june.   now if you want to meet up i'm sure we can come upon a suitable meet point.  btw i'm here in moses lake, along with another forum member  Max.

I recently joined the Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club.
The  members are 95% Harley riders, but are a good bunch of folks.  I am the only Savage in the group, but there are few Honda Shadows and even one Ridley (750 v-twin with auto trans...made in Okla. city).

Those Ridleys are interesting, aren't they?  I saw some at a rally in Cherokee, NC.  Amazing little "off brand" bike, too.

Seattle Motorcycle Club, which has been AMA chartered since the 1930s or so...which counts me out, I won't have anything to do with AMA sanctioned events. Around here, just a bunch of stuffy old geezers (who couldn't get on a bike if they were catapult launched in the right direction) whining about how much better riding was in the 1950s. Bleah...I've had 50s model bikes, they weren't very good. But, give them a look see, I'm an ex-patch holder, so the sanctioned clubs don't like me anyway.

Hey WD,

I've been lurking around lately, but have not posted much, since work and a new supervisor are driving me nuts. I hope I'll have pictures of my ride over the weekend.

I have read a couple of times about you being an ex-patch holder, would you share some of your story with us?

Best,

RW

There are several Riding Clubs here in Nfld. The Relic Riders, The NewFound Riders, The Northern Stars and The Northern Riders to name those that come to mind. And of course there's the local HOG Group and the Blue Knights which consist of cops & other law enforcement officials. I'm not a member of any ... and curiously, Nfld. is the only Canadian province without a 1%'er outlaw type club (as far as I know ... never seen any out and about).
Yeah, betcha WD could tell us some entertaining tales!
