Title: Cheapest place for windshields?
Post by Karen627 on 09/14/05 at 17:56:50

Just wondering if anyone can suggest the cheapest place to order the Memphis Shades Pop Top.

I know Accessories International has it for $139.98 (with the mounting kit).  Am I correct in thinking that's the best I'll do?

I plan to order tonight, so I can get it in time for the Dragon ride.

Thanks.

I paid under $70 for mine last year from J. C. Whitney. Here's a link to some of their windscreens. (I hope it works, it's a long link)

Babbalou's Link (http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/showCustom-0/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2000666/c-10111/Nty-1/p-2000666/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10111/tf-Browse/Ns-p_MIN_PRICE|0/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=windshield)

I took the liberty of fixing the link so the page would display correctly.
Rob

I believe the memphis shades at ron ayers were at a good/best price - you may need the part number to find it

I like eBay for that sort of stuff but I noticed Lancer has one for sale in The Marketplace.

Lancer's Memphis Shades Windshield (http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?board=Market;action=display;num=1126705323)

I saw Lancer's windshield -- unfortunately, I think it's a little bit bigger than what I was looking for.

I bit the proverbial bullet and ordered from Accessories International.  They were something like $2 cheaper than Ron Ayers -- hey, that's enough for almost a whole gallon of gas. ;D

Now I just have to hope it gets to me before next weekend.

Thanks again, everyone.  :)

For future reference, the Dennis Kirk Catalog company sells all of their clearance stuff on their ebay store...called "dk-trader".  The deals on there are just amazing.  The stuff I buy there is marked down as much a 10 cents on the dollar.  Even the highest priced items are marked down 50%.

Yeah, I had checked there.  No luck.  Ah, well.

BTW, your windshield looks good -- if it hadn't been a little bit too big (or if I weren't so short), I would have jumped on it.  :)

(P.S.  Hope all is well with Mrs. Lancer.)

I am thinking about getting a Pop Top too. Would like to hear about your experience with it.

I'll let you know.  It's supposed to arrive Wednesday.  I'll probably put it on Thursday, then I'm heading up to NC on Friday for the group ride at the Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway.  By the time I get back Sunday I'll probably have put about 400-someodd miles on with the windshield, so I'll probably have a pretty good idea of how well it works on the bike. :)
