Title: Removable windscreen Post by Mr 650 on 07/29/05 at 00:29:09 I want a windscreen w/ knobs to quickly install and remove it. I am sure I have seen something like this to protect from the aero drag during long highway hours. I don't want to remove my flyscreen but for long road trips I would like something I could slap on and overlap w/ the flyscreen. I think I would prefer one I can just peep over vs. looking through it all day. I would then throw in the motel room when I get to town. Anyone tried any of these? |
Title: Re: Removable windscreen Post by Savi650 on 07/29/05 at 06:12:21 Try National Cycle... I have a deflector shield and it can be attached or removed in under 2 minutes. They look nice too. http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalogue/FramesetDeflectorScreens.html Savi650 |

Title: Re: Removable windscreen Post by red2k1 on 07/31/05 at 18:58:42 Mr 650, I have the National Cycle Street Screen EX with quick release mounts and highly recommend it. Very simple on/off, however, I leave it on most of the time. Picked mine up on eBay for $28 and $10 shipping -- brand new. Sometimes one may find a bargin on eBay. |

Title: Re: Removable windscreen Post by Mr 650 on 08/10/05 at 03:14:00 Been home for 3 days and have not even looked at the bike yet, :-/ but I plan to ride it down Beale St. for bike nite tomorrow. It has been parked about 2 months while I baked in Louisville, and we both need to be aired. Also, ordered the quick-change National Cycle Street Shield EX windshield: http://www.mawonline.com/photos/natcyc_strt_shld_ex_n2568_vz800.gif It had "slight" shipping scratches and it was priced right, so I will buff out the marks and hang it on my 650 if only because it is a "quick-change". There are several other things still on the back burner, but I would just as soon ride as tinker, & needs to be run,... I hope she cranks. ::) I have a long list of stuff I want to do, but unfortunately they're far down the list behind work. |
