I take it there is no way to do it With Out removing the wheel :'(, I guess I will just have to brake down and jack the bike up with a milk carton!

i tried it with the wheel on, but the bolts are locktited in and took more torque than i could generate in the small space.

there is a wood lift you can fabricate to replace the milk crate with do a google of the site looking for easy lift, it's been discused at length.

in a nut shell you take two 4 foot sections of 2x8 and attach together with lag bolts.  that makes a 4x8 hunk of wood, drill a 3/4 inch hole through about 4 inches from end..place a threaded pipe through the hole and hold it in place with a 3/4 flange.. so you now have a 4 foot 4x8 lift with a handle.  position it under center point and use the handle to lift machine. i move the handle forward to work on the rear, and to the rear to work on front. it's sweet.  it was some one elses idea for raising bikes, i just use it.. works really well.  i find i use it more that the fancy dancy lift i have.

have fun tinkering..

Thanks, that is pretty ingenious.  The more I save on tools the more I can put into the bike,,,

Any suggestions for aftermarket turn signals?

I replaced mine with Kuryakyn Silver Bullets, both front and back.  They're great!
