Title: ATTN: Susan - ? re: your saddlebags Post by Durandal on 03/17/05 at 15:45:30 Susan, I saw a picture of the saddlebags you have in another thread and wanted to ask you about them. I liked the way you had them routed under the pillion seat. Are you also using any kind of brackets to keep them away from the wheel? I couldn't tell from the picture. Any info is appreciated. Thanks! |

Title: Re: ATTN: Susan - ? your saddlebags Post by Greg_650 on 03/20/05 at 08:08:20 Times up :) I posted this one in another "lifetime"....I trimmed the leather to take some of the pressure off of the rectifier and let it still get air http://home.comcast.net/~gmdinusa/Seat03web.jpg And you will want to find some support brackets like these (there is another kind, too) to keep your stash from rubbing the tire... http://home.comcast.net/~gmdinusa/RearFender01web.jpg |
Title: Re: ATTN: Susan - ? your saddlebags Post by Durandal on 03/20/05 at 17:56:34 Thanks for the info. Do the supports attach to the existing holes in the fender, or would I need to drill new ones for them? |
Title: Re: ATTN: Susan - ? your saddlebags Post by Savage_Rob on 03/20/05 at 18:06:42 The Suzuki supports use the existing holes. There are a number of 3rd party supports that may require some adaptation. |
Title: Re: ATTN: Susan - ? your saddlebags Post by Susan on 03/28/05 at 14:03:54 Hi. Apologize for the lengthy delay -- haven't been on for a few weeks. I have the Suzuki saddlebag brackets. Pretty easy to install - they use existing holes but you do have to do some work to get them on. The bags then just get thrown over the regulator and strap onto the brackets. Let me know if you have any additional questions. P.S. to Greg -- thanks for covering for me guy! ;D |
