Title: Cheap man's mod Post by erik on 03/11/05 at 17:08:05 Drilled 4 holes in the end of the pipe last night, dam if it doesn't sound like half a harley! :D |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by gitarzan on 03/11/05 at 19:07:30 I knocked a ½" hole in my Harley muffler, and mine only sounds like a loud thumper. |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by rebslb13 on 03/11/05 at 19:11:31 I guess it varies by state, but is it legal to drill/punch holes in the muffler? What about passing the inspection? |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by gitarzan on 03/11/05 at 19:17:08 No inspections in Ohio. At least not around here. |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by RG on 03/11/05 at 20:07:17 I've got a Jardine slip-on. I completely removed my baffle. It sounds great. No inspections in Idaho either. -RG |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by slavy on 03/29/05 at 06:44:30 I don't know any state to give You a problem about just couple of holes in the stock exhaust. You have either a safety inspection, that doesn't care about the exhaust, either emission test- just HC and CO at idle, or no test at all. |
Title: Re: Cheap man's mod Post by savagethumper on 03/29/05 at 07:04:00 Texas is strict on the cars, but they didn't even fire up the bike when they inspected mine. It would've passed, but I could run straight pipes if I wanted. Speaking of which, my inspection is due right now. |
