Title: Carburetor / tank
Post by augh on 03/11/05 at 02:38:08

The tank and carburetor are connected with two tubes of different section.  One larger that is on the choke sede and goes to the lower portion of the Carb and a second one, on the other side, smaller size that goes, under the carb in my bike, probably over the carb in your,  right below the gasoline mix idle .  Can you help me to understand what is this second tube and, since I found it badly bended close to the carb, would this have  effected  performance??  (Fixed the problem but did not test the bike) .  Tx Augusto.

The tube( larger dia.) is the supply from the tank.

The other one is the vacuum tube.
This will open the fuel tap when the engine is running i.o.w when there's vacuum, provided the tap is set to on or res(serve).

Thanks Greetz, it's clear now.  How can I stop the gasoline flow in the main tube??  There is no "off" position in the tank switch.  At least in the European model.  Augusto.

The flow of fuel is stopped in the On and Res position when the engine is not running. Pri gives you a steady flow. If you have fuel flowing in ALL positions of the fueltap there something wrong with the fueltap.

Note : for fueltap read petc(o)ck

Greetz, on the photo you put on a previous discussion about the "small box" , your right side of the carburetor has no vacuum tube.  Did you remove it???  Augusto.
