Title: move front seat back
Post by Nightrain on 02/21/05 at 10:26:25

After messing around with my bike all weekend, I figured out that this is where my seat needs to be. I can pony up $500+ for forward controls or try and move the seat back. I havent figured out how to do it yet, but it should be fun. For honarable mention, this is not my bike. I pirated this picture from sluggo. Hey Sluggo, If you want the pic gone, let me know and I will pull it. No bad feelings ;D

i have no problem with this kind of use of my photos.

intresting thoughts on seat placement. it would take some welding skills.

Yeah, my legs are just too darned long. Do you think that it will look to frankenstein-ish? My other option is to pony up the $550 for the seeger forward controls.  Thanks Sluggo.

i saw a double seat set up like that somewhere. i'll have to look around for that one.

i think the forward controls would be the way to go.

or leg shorting surgery would do.  :o

What's your inseam measurment?  (The wife's a 36 and is thinking of getting a motorcycle for herself.)

As you move the seat back you'll also have to move it up to clear the rear tire.  Leaves a rather large space below/infront of the seat.  A stretched custom tank to fill that area would look interesting.

I have visions of the Police Academy movie, where Hightower can't fit in a Honda so his partner suggests ripping out the front seat and driving from the rear -- which he did.

Hey thank for that link frost. I love all types of customization. I was thinking of something similar to that but without the spring. Being that the savage is a full suspension bike, there is almost no need for any travel in the seat, although more cush in the tush never hurt anyone.  ;)
