Title: Springer seat Post by Nightrain on 02/15/05 at 15:33:06 Anyone know where can I get a seat like this? I did a few searches but nothing comes up under springer seat. Is there a specific name for a seat that has springs? Nice bike BTW :) Thanks for any insight http://www.intruderalert.com/cafe/attachments/seat%20005post.jpg |

Title: Re: Springer seat Post by sluggo on 02/15/05 at 17:15:24 same seat as mine. i'ts so much more comfortable than the stock seat. the key to a great appearance will be a sheet metal cover over the exposed wires.. http://predator.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-savage-04-bikepics-292501.jpg just put the new rear on i went with a irc 140/90 fills up the space nicely with no rub. my mods are done. too soon though, weather not ready for long rides. :( |
Title: Re: Springer seat Post by Savage_Rob on 02/16/05 at 06:11:20 I really like that seat and the bobbed look but I also really like the utility of my trunk. If I ever get rid of the trunk, I'll probably go with that seat and some apehangers. That's probably a little while off though, if ever. |
Title: Re: Springer seat Post by Nightrain on 02/16/05 at 08:44:42 What I really want is to move the seat back about 6-8 inches so that I can spread out my legs a little. This looks like and easy seat to accomplish something like that. Just weld in a few brackets and wallah! Hey sluggo, is that the 9" or 11" seat on your bike? |

i wish i had an "eleven incher" but i do get by with my "nine inches" ::). if you compare the two photos you will see mine is placed several inches further back than the red ones' |
Title: Re: Springer seat Post by Nightrain on 02/16/05 at 08:59:18 Yeah I noticed that. Yours looks about 2 inches back. I think I can even go back a few more inches with the stock setup. If I weld some ears behind where you bolted your springs to the frame then I can probably get a few more. |
