Title: Drag Bars pic Post by Nightrain on 02/07/05 at 08:10:07 Finally got around to getting a new camera. Here is a picture of the drag bars that I installed 2 mos ago. - 4" risers of ebay - 27" harley drag bars off ebay The whole swap cost less than $100 bucks and about a day of work. http://predator.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-savage-01-bikepics-286956.jpg Sorry it so dark in my garage. http://predator.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-savage-01-bikepics-286958.jpg |
Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by lordzamize on 02/07/05 at 11:29:29 What is the minimum riser height needed for drag bars? Z |
Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by N.T. on 02/07/05 at 11:52:31 YOU CAN INSTALL CERTIAN DRAG BARS ON THE FACTORY RISERS. YOU JUST HAVE TO TILT THE GRIPS UPWARD UNTIL THEY CLEAR THE TANK. I JUST CHOSE TO GO WITH A 4" RISER FOR A DIFFERENT LOOK. |

Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by Nightrain on 02/08/05 at 15:46:29 Ya know, I'll have to get back to you on the comfort. My old shadow aero had apes and I kinda liked those. It is too cold, wet, snowy, salty to ride in massachusetts. I just flipped my vespa scooter that had bars silmilar to this setup. On the vespa I liked riding with my a** more to the rear of the bike (on the passenger seat to be exact) and my arms fully extended. I think that this setup will work, I just wish I could move the savage seat back about 3-4 inches. But we'll see. |
Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by Mr 650 on 02/12/05 at 01:52:40 I watched Easy Rider the other night. I think Dennis (s.i.c. Denise) Hopper would dig 'em. http://www.sapo-media.de/100kino/filme/1960_bild/69easrid.jpg |

Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by Z on 02/18/05 at 14:06:15 Cool looking Bars Nightrain question. Did you have to change your clutch and front brake cables if so what length did you have to get. |
Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by Nightrain on 02/18/05 at 14:17:19 Didn't have to change any cables. There is a tad more slack than before, but barely noticeable. |
Title: Re: Drag Bars pic Post by klx650sm2002 on 02/19/05 at 01:35:42 I have 7/8" MX bars on KLX, they are 33" wide with 1.5" o.d. grips. I like the wide bars cos I'm quite a big guy, 6 foot 3 and 210 with kit. Clive W :D |
