Title: road kill decals - new to the group & bike
Post by rebslb13 on 02/04/05 at 22:01:29

Hello, I'm new to the group and just rolled over 1,000 miles on my savage. I saw a prior thread suggesting decals for road kills. Great idea! Does it count if it was on a prior bike (I nailed a dog in 1970 on a Honda 350 on a gravel road about 2:00 in the morning)? Also, I guess the critters should get their decals too. My brother has had 2 Goldwings totalled, one by a deer and one (brand new) by an elk. Guess the critters got their revenge!
Great group, I'm looking forward to many fun and informative threads.
I'm in mid Missourii with an '04 with windshield and (hopefully soon) fiberglass saddlebags. I plan on doing some touring since I'm now retired.

Was it a whitetail deer?  'Cause I saw a whitetail deer with a Goldwing sticker on his rump.  AND he was limping.

Welcome to the forum.  :)

Welcome! What sort of fiberglass saddlebags? Are you building some?

The kills are for the vehicle, not the rider.  Your kills will have to be tattoo'ed on you.

Mine (http://www.dslretorts.com/Paladin/archives/000707.html) are not fiberglass reinforced plastic -- just plain laminated ABS and ?? to give it the look of leather.  But they are rigid and lockable (http://www.dslretorts.com/Paladin/archives/000708.html).

Susan, they are old ones I bought used in about 1982. I checked on the net and the company is now out of business. They were made by Land Tool Co. in Wichita, KS. I think they are fiberglass but they may be one of the plastics. I first used them on a Kawasaki 550 LTD till I sold it.

I used to have a 550 LTD also, had great fun drag racing it at run what you brung meetings. I think the Savage would be good fun at that type of meeting. Any one know the E.T. and terminal for a Savage.

No need for a high compression piston with a turbo.

Yup, you drink the "concentrated courage" before you take-off on that bad boy.
