Title: S40 Drag Bars
Post by PerrydaSavage on 02/04/05 at 03:53:08

8)I'm toying with the idea of eventually replacing my Savage's OEM pull-back bars with a drag type set-up ... anyone have any idea if the VZ800 Marauder bars will bolt right on the Savage ... and/or how much the new S40 bars might cost ... and if all of the Savage's original bar accessiories (i.e. grips, switchgear and brake fluid reservior) with swap over easily to either of the above-mentioned bar set-ups?
Thanks in advance for any and all replies!

The Intruder 1400 bars are a direct fit, so I've read.

Look in the IPC of Ron Ayers. ???
Pick the 1986 or '87 model, press the partnumber and you get the newprice. Gives you an idea of the price.
I have installed the risers of an Intruder ( 50 mm high) and an HD steering bar.
Most HD steering bars are 1" . Search E-bay.

In my modifications list for this year, I'll be getting the S40 Drag bars and slightly different risers for my 97 Savage.  Should look kewl.

For some reason I had thought the Savage had a 3½" spacing.  Based on that ASSumption I bought the coolest HD risers ever seen on eBay (IMHO).

Turns out, the spacing is 4".

Still mulling over these: http://secure.cycleaccessoriesoutlet.com/str/customer/product.php?productid=854&cat=0&page=4
But have concerns about a lack of adjustment.
