Title: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by savagethumper on 01/16/05 at 17:48:09 This is what I would love to see my Savage look like. Hey, all I need to do is cant the engine back, cut the forks, redo the side plates, the back fender, handlebars, pedals, brake, gas tank, etc..etc..http://www.tigersharkcorvette.com/gallery/data/500/10newsavagehugger.jpg This took a while in the photoshop program. ;D |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by savagethumper on 01/16/05 at 17:53:56 In case ya'll are wondering, I dropped the tank a little, cut the back fender, cut the handlebars, tipped the engine back so it would be level, tipped the chrome side plate back, levelled the backrest/fender support, cut the backrest off, shrunk the taillight, moved the pedals in the crotch rocket position, put more frame in the lower front of the motor, and lowered the front quite a bit. I tink that's all I did, I was bored... :P |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by gitarzan on 01/16/05 at 20:49:27 Lose the front fender and that would rock! (Sorry for the quality loss, I did mine in pbrush) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gitarzan/savage.gif |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by sluggo on 01/16/05 at 23:25:36 i say lose the signals, add chopper seat, chrome front and rear fender bob it.. then it will look like what i've done with mine. :P http://predator.bikepics.com/pics/suzuki-savage-04-bikepics-274738.jpg OH YEAH GIT HAVE YOU SEEN YOU HANDY WORK ON THE STICKER. Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by sluggo on 01/17/05 at 14:38:30
the 20 days of rain finally stopped as i saw on the channel 4 news.. i still watch l.a. news it's like i now live in the really really far away suburbs. with all that rain the roads should be pretty well cleaned, along with the storm drains. i once did "comunity service" at the beach front between manhattan and playdel rey (sp) for a speeding ticket i got on my last thumper. it had just rained was awfull. all the stuff drained out to the sea then was brought back in on the tide. we even found a car off the bike path, the boss wouldn't let us touch it called it in. had a womans body in the trunk. so from then on i just payed my tickets, no more community service for me. :o |

but then who would by a brand spanking new motorcyle and chop the sh:oit out of it. well me of course. i march to my own drumbeat, and let the others follow. only problem is i get so far out ahead of the curve that people lose sight of me, then they think they be the original thinkers. by that time i've moved on to the next big thing and what other bike out there would someone do the things we do to them. not many.. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Red_Wine on 01/18/05 at 04:55:59 Hey, there Sluggo!!! As Susan said, you be dammed!!! it's only you who would do that to a new thumper!!! :o I like the looks and the snow tires are certainly something that would kick my adrenaline levels way up further than even my sweetie wife!!! ;D LOL If possible, I think wew would all appreciate daylight shots of your thumper on the snow (if you are riding on it, even better!!!! ;D ) KTRSD Red Wine |

Hi Sluggo, I think we can work that out, as I would like to check that 650 you got. ;D Mine is a 1990, chain drive 400cc Japanese market Savage. 8) I think Suzuki only made them for the domestic market but quite a few of them ended up in here in the mid-1990's when it was still legal to import used bikes into Chile (not anymore!!! :o and now we are getting all kinds of Chinese junk with engines designed in the mid 70's !!!! ??? ) We got all kinds of models in that period (European, American, Japanese models ranging from 50 cc to 1200+ cc). So, when are exchanging rides, eh? Summer is hot and the 1994 vintage is just making it into the stores ;) ;D KTRSD Red Wine Ride Safe |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by gitarzan on 01/19/05 at 14:15:33 Chinese bikes? Post some links to some dealer pages. I don't want to buy, but want to look. Are they totally outdated like the Royal Enfield? Or do they try to emulate modern bikes? I heard the Chinese are trying to pass muster to export an automobile to the USA. I'd not be suprised if an MC or Scooter would follow. The Chinese make some guitars that provide an excellent bang for the buck. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Savage_Rob on 01/19/05 at 14:26:48 Maybe something like the Russian Urals? |

Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by sluggo on 01/19/05 at 15:59:32 i like the motorized ricshaw. we here in the good ole u.s.of a. love big machines, but the rest of the world thinks a 250cc is just fine. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by gitarzan on 01/19/05 at 16:06:40 That's a pretty broad brush you're painting the rest of the world with. There's a lot of folks in other countries out there that appreciate a honkin' big bike. |

yup big brushes is me. :-[ actually it was more af a slam on americans than anything else. world wide there will always be a thirst for big machines. ;) i was speaking more of a basic transportation item. travel to the third world and you will see what i mean about the bike size. i just loved those 100cc machines with sidecars in manila. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Max_Morley on 01/19/05 at 18:10:40 What a surprise, I bought one of the trikes last month in Kent, Wa. Was driving by a store that had it out front just North of Bent Bike Motorcycle Salvage on the main drag. Was on sale and just fits in the back of our new Colorado Crewcab short box PU. Mine has fold up seats on the sides vs crossways, and a more PU like box withtail gate. Knock off Honda 100 engine, with auto clutch, 4 speed, and electric start. Reverser unit is in drive chain and the rear axle has a differential so it will start in a turn unlike the 3 wheel ATV's which usually ran a solid rear axle. It is a hoot to use here in the country. Wife used it to harvest her gourds this Fall as I haven't got the worn out Kawasaki Mule back together for her yet. It fits through a standard fence gate and that is handy. Back to concept bikes. was looking around the net a while back and found a picture of the standard bike version of the Savage. Also used another name Suzuki used, Tempter, use goggle and search for 1997_tempter_490.jpg. I'll ty to drag and drop an picture. Max 1997_Tempter_490.jpg |

Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Paladin on 01/19/05 at 19:13:11 Found a Tempter single. (There is also a 650 Tempter twin) Swiped the photo and saved on my site. Stock, and made into a cafe racer. http://savage.andruschak.net/tempter/Image3.jpg http://savage.andruschak.net/tempter/Image2.jpg |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by sluggo on 01/19/05 at 19:50:55 suzuki, they sure know how to recycle things. the muffler looks just like the one on my 81gn 400. i like the naked top of the engine more than the chrome covers. i had mine off the rightside looked ok left was pretty ugly. so i put them back on. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by PerrydaSavage on 01/20/05 at 08:25:06 8)Love the look of that 650 Tempter thumper ... wish 'Zuki marketed that one here in Canada! |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Savage_Rob on 01/20/05 at 08:41:31 Heck, if they take this year's model and relocate the speedo out of the tank, add a tach and use the Jardine muffler, it'd look pretty darned close to that top one. |
Title: Re: Concept Savage/ S40 Post by Red_Wine on 01/21/05 at 05:17:00 The NCI-007, not too bad: http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50068042/NCI_007_Motorcycle.jpg 124mm "street bike": http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50127519/Street_Bike.jpg 250cc: http://img.alibaba.com/photo/50004547/Motorcycle.jpg
These are the ones we are getting, with the Motorrad brand on them... :o Chinese bikes sold 2,500 units in 2004 in Chile (about 1/3 of the market) I saw the Hyosung bikes sold as hot bread a couple of years ago... now you don't see them on the street anymore... nobody imported heads, valves or anything!!!! :o ::) I wouldn't get one of those at all... well, only is someone gave me one for free... ::) ;D That's the problem with them, no support from the importer, you buy it, use it for a year, and throw it away... a friend of mine is installing japanese Honda CG 125 cc engines on some of the Hyosung chassis, since they are comfortable, but the bikes are worth nothing tothe public, so it's just to keep them running and get the money back to start on another, no profits (well, almost no profit ::).
