ok , K&N lists a air cleaner for the 95 and up savages , but do they fit the 86 ?
did they just ignore 86,87 because few were sold in USA ? can anyone answer.

Find out if there any specific differences in the stock filter before '95. If not, then the K&N should fit.

The part # for stock replacement K+N is either SU6595 or D6595, Greg'll know.

I had to work today, so I haven't had time to check, but it seems that if the Ron Ayers site lists the same part number for the stock filter for those years, then the K&N should fit.

Just a guess.... :)

I used the SU-6595 and it works fine. Mine was missing the mounting clamp that is supposed to be included in the box. I called K&N and they sent one out to me with no hassle though.
