Anyone have any idea how the heck you remove the clucth plate nut to get to the cam chain?? Do i need a Very long socket bar?

Yes, and the nut on the crankshaft is tightened with 140 Nm. Can be done with a copper washer between the gears. Nut on the crankshaft has LH thread :o. If you have the other (generator) cover off you can hold the nut on the rotor with a 36 mm offset ringspanner.
Read the Clymer for specific details.
Goodluck

Cheers!

My next question would be, where can i find a CHEAP cam chain?? Anyone know anywhere? The ones from my local dealers are V expensive, three times what my KAW was.... :-(

Good tip! Been battling with getting the final sprocket off my bike to replace the chain.

Placing soft copper in the primary gears to remove the clutch nut or crankshaft nut works.  It is best to use soft copper and not a penny, as the penny is a bit too hard.

I have been cautioned not to use the nut of the left side of the crankshaft while working on the right side.  The crankshaft halves are held together by a press fit in the center where the rod pin is located, and torquing across the crankshaft has the potential to twist it out of alignment.
