Title: Cheaper to keep her!
Post by Gregski on 03/08/04 at 10:28:12

Just a few days ago I sold my other bike, a 1980 Yamaha SR250G, so today I called up Progressive Insurance and told them about it, hoping it would lower my costs.  Here's what I used to pay:

1980 Yamaha - $135 then I added the
1999 Savage - $24

My new price is $214 because I lost the multiple bike discount.  This is for basic liability coverage, (basically the minimum required by law) and I live in Sacramento California.

I thought that was rather interesting as I know for a fact I do not understand the world of insurance sales, nor do I want to, lol.

Just thought I would share,
Greg

I hear you; seems to me progressive is raising prices lately. I insure 3 bikes with them and it costs me 150.00 for each bike and I am no kid.
It cost me about 267.00 a year ago for all 3.

I have Dairyland also. I carry just liability and towing and it is about $125.00/year. And I have actually used the towing once and no effect on my rate.
